Constructing the deck 1Our meditation hut is situated on a hill with a breathtaking outlook. In order to make use of this as much as possible, we decided to build the deck as a part of the hut. There we can enjoy moments with cups of tea or even meditate.

Despite both cloudy and cold weather we set out to shop for material to build the framework of the deck. Then, our team consisting of only Czech workers, headed to Glentui with the load .

Constructing the deck 2Glentui welcomed us with very cold weather. It was probably the coldest day which we have ever experienced in Glentui. In order to warm ourselves, we started to work. The job was very similar to the work we had done on the foundations. Some trouble caused the main timber to bend, but despite this, the job went successfully. The framework of the deck was done in three hours. After we finished it was really cold, so nobody wanted to stay longer to do a walk or just relax.

Constructing the deck 4The successful day was completed by baking pizza and drinking a glass of wine at the Centre in Christchurch.

Apart from building, we will also do a barbecue at 2pm on Saturday, August 28. If you want to be part of the project or just have a sausage or a drink and relax after a busy week, don't hesitate to come.
