Born in Ukraine in 1965, Lena studied mathematics at Lvov State University. She took Buddhist refuge with Lama Ole Nydahl in 1992, and began teaching in Diamond Way Buddhist centers in 1998. Lena has been translating and editing Buddhist books since 2007.

She is currently the chief editor of the Buddhism.ru magazine, and completed a PhD in Buddhist history in 2011. Lena currently resides in the Moscow Buddhist centre in Russia, and has been living there since 1998.
